Cube Fight v1.4.0 - MEGAPATCH I


Hey!

It’s time to release the long-awaited megapatch!

This patch unluckily isn’t as mega as I planned it to be from the front end, but it’s not bad! Just give it a try!

How about we start from the beginning? Well, I am trying to remember in what order I made these changes, so how about we begin with the fun stuff?

New map added - Heavenside!

In update 1.3.0, moving platforms were introduced. They weren’t used anywhere in the game, but you could spawn them in custom maps. In update 1.4.0, we fixed some minor bugs and created a map that uses them! This map is made for sniper rifles which has been updated too!


New weapon added – shotgun!

It’s a new weapon mechanic in Cube Fight, a weapon that can shoot multiple bullets and has insane recoil – it finally is a good competitor for ak-47. It shoots 4 bullets, and each deals 15hp. That is 60 IN TOTAL! It’s perfect for short-range fights but won’t help you at any further distances.



Weapon inaccuracy added!

Weapons in Cube Fight always had 100% accuracy. No matter if you shoot full series with ak-47 or a single precise shot with a sniper rifle. Now we are differencing that! Here are the inaccuracies for certain weapons (in degrees):

  • AK-47: 5
  • Pistol: 2
  • Sniper Rifle: 0
  • Shotgun: 70

Bullet inaccuracy is randomly chosen from 0 to x degrees. Where x is the number from the list above.



Sniper Rifle was updated!

When sniper rifle was added – it was boring. It had nothing to do with sniping - a weapon that can kill you in 2 shots and has a huge cooldown. From now on, we are making a Sniper Rifle, the Sniper Rifle. You can zoom with right-click and spot a player across the whole map! It’s way more OP than it was, but you have to check it yourself in the game!







AND A LOT MORE!

There are lots of bug fixes, enhancements, and additions that you can find by playing, modding, and hosting our game. AdminGUI got some new fancy panels, translations break less, you can specify permissions for our staff members in your config file, and as I said - a lot more.

I don’t want to be this person who says that indie dev is hard, but yes, it is. I’m making a game about white cubes, and it can be exhausting to find any motivation. Thanks to everyone who contributed to beta testing or translations, people whom I yoinked music, and you for reading that and hopefully playing the game! I don’t plan another mega patch since that one wasn’t something I’m proud of, and I would have even less time for that. I’ll be sticking to smaller updates/patches and going to work on my next game (this time 3D). I don’t know if there will be another occasion to say that, so I wish you everything good for Christmas and New Year! Make your wishes come true and help them come true.
